Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the governance of clinical and non-clinical data essential to Life Healthcare’s operations and the analytics functions that inform strategy.

- Develop, manage and update data quality and governance standards, ensuring that these cater adequately for security, integrity and useability of data throughout the LHC data ecosystem and are widely disseminated and well understood by users.
- Provide data support to the user community.
- Adhere to global best practices and keep up-to-date with data governance developments.
- Point of escalation with privacy and security office in terms of data risks and non-compliance identified (e.g. poor data protection and security being applied; ensuring requests for data for a new purpose or use cases are defined and approved;
- Manage sources of reference information for both internal and external providers.
- Create, maintain and facilitate access to metadata, including the development and ongoing review of naming standards, data definitions and aliases, and the documentation of data domains, mappings and schemas and other attributes. Assist the CISO’s security office with data loss prevention implementation. (identifying high-risk data)
- Technical support and reports to be generated for data owners/custodians to effectively manage existing retention rules and retention criteria (deletion of redundant data).
- Manage data access in line with data classification and governance standards, putting in place and enforcing the authorisation and authentication of users and data access levels.
- Create and maintain data inventories as systems and processes are introduced.
- Information life-cycle management, defining and implementing policies to manage the operational management of data in the ecosystem (from ingestion to storage to processing and onward transmission). Create and maintain data flow diagrams (view of flow between systems; processes, and countries)
- Maintain a list of data owners (department process owner), data custodians (data champion for the department) and authorised users of data (internal and external).
- Ensure data in use is appropriately labelled (category) and classified (Public; Internal; Confidential, and Restricted.)
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of Privacy and data protection Law would be an added advantage
- Experience in developing data standards or implementing governance
- 2+ years experience in cloud-based data environments, with expertise in MS Azure a strong recommendation
- Healthcare experience, in particular in a hospital environment, would be an added advantage
- 3+ years experience in SSIS, SSAS and SSRS development
- Proven expertise in data architecture
- Advanced SQL and TSQL expertise
