Job Description:
The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Manager will be responsible for developing, managing and advancing Sanlam Investments ESG program which consists of three key building blocks. Stewardship, ESG research and measuring impact. The incumbent will provide technical expertise on key issues relating to ESG matters across asset classes and drive the overall program to embed change. The role will also be required to manage a team of ESG analysts, work with senior professionals in all areas of the business and be the subject matter expert on industry practices and standards.

- Excellent excel and writing skills
- Fully proficient in Office 365 including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Bloomberg
- Strong communication skills
- Experience managing and coaching teams
- Self-confident, self-motivated and mature candidate
- MCom/ MBA/ MSc/ CA or equivalent degree in finance/ sustainable development (e.g. sustainable finance, environmental sciences, economics)
- Excellent communication, presentation and administration skills
- Skilled in managing stakeholder relationships and building networks
- 10 + years’ experience in the investment management and sustainability. Experience in ESG either in consulting or an in-house ESG capability in asset management is an asset
- Passionate about ESG issues
- Creative problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
