Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality delivery of lessons and projects
  • Exam setting and the marking of exams and all other forms of student evaluation
  • Prepare practical learning opportunities for students.
  • Respond to e-mails and telephone messages from parents within 72 hours.
  • Attend all special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head.
  • The post holder is required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head/line manager determine.
  • Contribute to school development as a member of the team
  • Ability to offer learning support in and out of classroom context
  • Produce resources for students of a high standard.
  • A depth of understanding in the relevant subject area
  • Ability to judge learning effectiveness
  • Behave in a professional manner with regard to punctuality, behavior, standards of work and homework of students.
  • Evaluate, reflect on and refine your teaching practice.
  • Plan, prepare and present interesting and exciting Information Technology lessons
  • Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing and promotes learning.
  • Raising the profile of Information Technology in the FET
  • Ensure efficient use of resources, creativity and innovation in lesson development and implementation

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience with IEB Programmes
  • At least 5 years’ experience teaching Information Technology
  • Good time management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong team orientation
  • Ability to connect effectively with children
  • A thorough understanding of the subject material that you will be teaching
  • Ability to be a role model
  • Ability to reflect on own practice
  • Good planning, organising and reporting skills
  • Good communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Previous experience with JAVA
