Facilitate and implement department’s visibility on social media – content generation. Create and build relationship with influencers such as business leaders, celebrities etc. Alert the department on the trends in the media. Handle media enquiries. Maintain and build good relationships with media and journalists. Secure interview slots with media for MEC or departmental spokespersons. Write press release, key messages and fact sheets. Increase the social media engagements through platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations. Monitor, analyse and communicate PR results on quarterly basis. Plan and implement a high level of awareness of the department and its programmes through media engagements such as events, campaigns, media briefings, and media networking sessions. Qualification & Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience at relevant administrative field. NQF level 6/7 in Public Relations / Communication / Journalism/Media Studies or equivalent qualification.
