Job Description: Reporting to the Manger Design Services; Mechanical Design Coordinator supporting Design Services providing day-to-day technical support as it pertains to administration of AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and SmartPlant tools and functions. [the_ad id="21943"] Job Responsibilities: Administrate project creation, configuration and customization in SmartPlant P&ID, and other design tools supporting both on-site and Home Office EPC requirements. Perform and/or provide end-user support/guidance for the SmartPlant tools to other Design/Engineering professionals. Creation and delivery of SmartPlant training aids, such as training courses, one-on-one training, and written training materials. Perform and/or oversee updating SmartPlant P&ID’s for end of job documentation and control documents. Oversight of implementation/support for the SmartPlant design tool suite including, Smart P&ID, Smart 3D, and Foundation. Troubleshoot any AutoCAD and Plant 3D related issues from Lake Charles Chemical Complex users and any designated satellite sites in the US. Implement and support the SmartPlant design tool suite including Smart P&ID and Smart Instrumentation. Maintain asset tagging and drawing number assignments. Maintain the basic AutoCAD and Plant 3D menu. Maintain Plant 3D piping specifications and bulk BOM reports. Identify and implement changes to set up new users and/or increase user productivity in the SmartPlant Suite of engineering design tools. Job Requirements: Strong Knowledge and understanding of SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID) and/or other SmartPlant tools, AutoCAD, and Plant 3D. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrates strong and assertive leadership skills and capable of directing teams and productively influencing work groups. Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel and stakeholders at different levels of engineering, design, maintenance, operations, and management as well as corporate or global stakeholders and outside EPC contractors. Exceptional interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication including the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams for discussion, email, and reporting. Qualification & Experience: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering or Technical discipline, Computer Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent years of experience). Experience working in PSM regulated petrochemical or refining industries with a good knowledge of AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and SmartPlant P&ID with some knowledge of SP3D. Experience in Mechanical/Piping Design with an understanding of good engineering practices. 5+ years’ experience required.
