Job Description: Provide tactical guidance on the technology roadmap to the SQE and STE team members. Contribute to the maturity technical chapters (e.g. solution architecture, development, quality engineering, and operations) that form the core of the E2D to guarantee that COPs are actively delivering best practice guidelines and standards for the related disciplines. Lead activities pertaining to DevOps and quality engineering in the areas of analysis and design, implementation and system integration, and execution, in line with E2D. Provide delivery and platform teams with self-service capabilities to support delivery of their solutions. [the_ad id="21943"] Job Responsibilities: Liaise with IM platform team leads and relevant stakeholders from service delivery to proactively identify risk mitigation opportunities. Build deployment pipelines in conjunction with development, platform, and core teams. Deliver reusable service/infrastructure templates to be utilised by relevant stakeholders. Manage a backlog of features, bugs, and technical debt to effectively address priorities. Participate actively in the planning, estimation, and sizing of products, features, stories to be delivered. Communicate with stakeholders key IM platforms achievements and secure buy-in on major platform initiatives. Coordinate with the chapter and community of practice to measure maturity of quality capability to identify areas of improvement. Maintain the scripts primarily used in the transactions and projects. Collaborate with business and internal teams to drive business improvement objectives and maintain alignment with IM strategy and Sasol Group’s technology roadmap. Identify and on-board technology vendors and service providers to introduce new IM platform technologies and plan mobilisation / scaling for highest value-add. Prepare proposals to pitch the need for optimisation, upgrade, retirement, and/or replacement of IM tools and technologies. Design and provide oversight of the delivery tools and processes by measuring maturity and securing tools and technology support testing capabilities. Preserve DevOps practices and guarantee their translation into work activities to drive value on projects and transactions and communicate it to relevant stakeholders. Engage with key stakeholders across IM platform teams to drive more integrated thinking and solutions and improve efficiency and innovation. Apply evidence based SHE practices in alignment with set standards for safe operations. Take part in DevOps and quality engineering community of practices and help the chapter lead with the updates for the playbook for best practices. Cooperate with relevant stakeholders and support the diagnosis of production issues when they happen. Perform ad-hoc peer review of the automated test assets being maintained by the Software Test Engineer (STE) to ascertain conformance to the process, governance, and E2D. Secure that health of toolchain capabilities are continuously improved including CI/CD pipelines, collaboration tools, packaging, testing, environments, and monitoring to verify the benefits of toolchain automation are realised. Devise and support long term IM platforms vision in alignment with Sasol Group's strategy and technology mission. Recommend and assist with architectural changes to improve performance and reliability. Sustain the performance and availability of platforms in the assigned area of responsibility. Identify and remediate pain points in the application lifecycle.
