Job Description: An exciting opportunity exists for a SENIOR IT DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (DBA) at AVI LIMITED IT SHARED SERVICES at our Waterfront, Cape Town. The purpose of the Senior DBA is to be responsible for the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of AVI’s system databases on both SAP and non-SAP systems. As the successful incumbent, you will work as part of the SAP Basis team and collaborate closely with the Systems Engineering and Systems and Enabling Technology teams. You will also act as an escalation point for database-related problems from the various ITSS teams. [the_ad id="21943"] Job Responsibilities: Mentor and cross-skill members of the SAP Basis team Diagnose and resolve complex problems relating to database performance Administer and maintain the database and associated system monitoring and management platforms Analysing the performance, capacity and trends of AVI’s system databases Perform close monitoring of the databases and react quickly to resolve complex problems as they occur.
