Job Description: The Senior Operational Finance Lead’s mission is to support the General Manager through the analysis of the financial position and health of the Branch and provide objective comments on different daily business maters based on the site performance and provide Operations with a means of guidance on its decisions regarding its business/financial performance. Furthermore, to be the business partner between Regional Shared Service Centre and the Branch. The Branch will include the Johannesburg Air and Sea Landside Operation, Sky Services, DAS and Johannesburg Air and Sea. [the_ad id="21943"] Job Responsibilities: Assist RSSC with the interim / year-end audit Assist Branch with maximizing client profitability and Return on Invested capital Provide insight and feedback on branch performance relative to metrics, targets and budgets, and advise on improvements and corrective actions Safeguard Assets and maintain accurate and reliable register Assist the branch with vendor management. Work with RSSC, ops and the vendor to resolve queries/issues to ensure opening, maintaining, receiving of invoices and paying of vendors meets the required metrics Identify and assist with implementation profit improvement plans (grow revenue, control/reduce costs) to optimize results Review revenue and ensure figures are reliable and accurate. Meet the metrics set by RSSC i.e. Negative accruals (debits), WIP, Run off, Gross margin % etc Be the point of contact between the business and Regional Shared service center (Information, queries, audit etc). Design and implement procedures where necessary to streamline / optimize driving value adds Organize / Steer the branch budget process and guide the branch through the different stages (i.e. targets, new business targets, uploads templates, cost allocation) Ensure all risks are identified and mitigated Work with ops, sales and RSSC to perform route cause analysis of overdue clients and design and implement processes to rectify these issues Cost control – ensure branch costs are within budget and are recorded in the correct period. Provide branch management with reports on the analyses of actuals v budget highlighting areas of concern for improvement Review of financial figures in SAP BPC (P/L, B/S, Cash Flow) & comment on deviations against budget and last year and provide detail comments on the main events that occurred during the month Safeguard Petty cash and maintain supporting documentation Assist and guide the Branch to meet metrics set by RSSC e.g. Invoicing, overdue, balance sheet items with debit ageing, DSO, working capital Drive the compliance with Regional and Group policies Job Requirements: B Com Accounting Must be a team player. Good understanding of financial statements and reports. Must be able to work well under pressure and deliver on deadlines. Experience in SAP ERP, SAP BPC and Cargowise financials Must have a valid and unendorsed driver’s licence. Ability to work long hours of overtime when necessary Must be controls and process focused. Self Starter who will use own initiative. Ability to indirectly and supervise and influence other department employees. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Minimum of 3 years' experience in an operational finance role Have a creative and problem-solving approach Advanced computer literacy level in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Must possess good time management skills.
