WFS has established a Connected Value Office [CVO] within the business to accelerate the delivery of the strategic agenda, ensure that there is value extraction from existing capabilities across both legacy and digital, as well as drive a shift in the ways of working to a more nimble, agile approach.

The CVO Enterprise Programme Manager will manage and co-ordinate programmes and projects across the enterprise, with specific focus on the strategic execution. The CVO Programme Manager will in addition coordinate and integrate to the existing PMO delivery teams, with a view to identifying and resolving any enterprise delivery issues or risks. The primary role of the CVO Programme Manager will be focus on successful execution of the strategic agenda, but will also play a role in supporting the ‘legacy’ portfolio in terms of reporting as well as driving enterprise prioritisation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate ‘hackathons’ or workshops with senior leadership that seek to articulate and understand the problem statements.
  • Develop and coordinate with input from various execution teams an enterprise view or enterprise report that will provide the executive stakeholders an understanding of the state of the strategic execution within the business, as well as impacts from external partners or suppliers.
  • Where requested, to support stakeholders in coaching the team to higher levels of agile maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • Engage with strategic partners, shareholders or vendors to collaborate of execution planning and agile delivery that unlocks early value and iterative customer facing releases.
  • Work with the Business Architect and CIO Delivery teams to enhance the enterprise blueprint to manageable and executable horizons that support the strategic agenda.
  • Develop and manage the investment value case with various stakeholders in CFO or within the CVO team, ensuring that there is an ongoing focus on investment tracking and value extraction.
  • Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example. Support and assist teams in planning to ensure alignment to programme roadmap and business priorities
  • Identify and work to remove impediments or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right solutions, be it skills, funding, technology to remove the impediment, sourced both internally (WFS) and/ or externally (Shareholders, partners, suppliers).
  • Drive and facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution across programme workstreams, identifying the needs and proactively supporting as needed.
  • Be an integral part of the Senior Leadership team by providing thought leadership within your area of expertise, offering ideas or solutions to problems.
  • Work with project sponsors to identify and manage risks and issues, and actively manage and track to resolution.
  • Develop and update project reports that inform the business of project status, issues, and risks, and are circulated on a periodic basis.
  • Work with the sponsors and business/ product owners of various workstreams to align on the overall flight plans with the respective scrum masters or project managers, including the road map of future phases.
  • Work with the existing programme or project managers, Scrum master(s) to ensure that completion of phases or sprints work is transparent and easily tracked to milestones that are tracked at an enterprise or portfolio level.
  • Deconstruct the desired outcomes into ‘jobs to be done’, and architect cohesive, prioritised programmes or work for orchestration and delivery.
  • Ensure the Head of CVO and relevant stakeholders are aware of all key risks, budgetary challenges and resource constraints.
  • Integrate with relevant business stakeholders to ensure that all affected parties are engaged appropriately and consulted on project impacts.
  • Support the Head of Strategy, Value Architect and CFO to ensuring the key enterprise metrics across all projects within the enterprise are tracked, managed, and reported on.
  • With the Value Architect, support the development of metrics for team evaluation, making use of sprint reports and team progress indicators that can be useful for qualitative or quantitate tracking.
  • Develop an enterprise-wide risk, assumption, issues and dependency view working closely with business stakeholders including CIO and partners, to understand the potential impacts on the business and develop mitigation plans to counter the identified risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure efficient & optimal delivery cadence, seeking to identify the blockers and resolve or escalate as needed.
  • Own and manage programme roadmaps and project delivery plans across various enterprise initiatives.
  • Highlight any conflicts across the portfolio, including resource constraints, enterprise change challenges, or customer impacts.

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant business knowledge of Financial Services.
  • Project Management certification [PMI or equivalent]
  • 5+ years’ experience with Agile (SCRUM) and KANBAN is required.
  • Knowledge of other various agile approaches: Agile, XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • Scrum Master Certification
  • Ability to diligently apply programme management principles, practices, and theory.
  • 10+ years’ experience as a programme manager within an enterprise context.
  • Delivery within a multi-vendor environment in retail or financial services is preferred.
  • Technical understanding of the problems development teams face as part of a SDLC.
  • Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing,
  • Pairing, Automated Testing.
  • Knowledge or experience in SaFE an advantage.
