Job Description:
The Division of Occupational Therapy seeks to appoint a Lecturer to a full time permanent position. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the Division through teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students and research related to Occupational Therapy predominantly in the domains of Work Practice / Vocational Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy Foundations for practice.
Job Responsibilities:
- Practice learning supervision of students across practice learning sites
- Administrative duties at Divisional and Departmental level
- Contribute to curriculum development, implementation and review
- Networking and Fostering relationships with colleagues and potential practice learning sites
- Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research supervision
- Contribute to the Social responsiveness agenda of the Faculty, Department and university
- Actively pursue research
- Travel to practice learning sites for supervision
Job Requirements:
- Experience in clinical supervision of students
- Experience in Physical or Mental Health Practice
- Experience in lecturing students
- Actively engaged in research
- Experience and/or interest in curriculum development and student support
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Relevant Master’s qualification by dissertation ,or coursework with a research component
- Minimum of 2-3 years clinical experience in Work Practice / Vocational Rehabilitation within Occupational
- Therapy
- Registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
