Job Description: The Project Manager is responsible for providing smooth procurement administration and financial management of projects and grants within a diverse multi-disciplinary research team. Building and managing project teams, reporting to the project sponsor and ensuring quality control throughout project life cycles are central to this position. [the_ad id="21943"] Job Responsibilities: Provision of assistance to project leaders in preparing budget applications, in line with the Foundation’s Financial Mandate Maintain relationships with partners/vendors/suppliers Gather, analyse and interpret external and internal business data and create relevant reports Interpreting financial information to ensure that business operates within budget requirements Preparation of internal reports for financial analysis Ensure that the business unit has the adequate and suitable resources to complete its activities (e.g. people, material, equipment etc.) Supporting alignment of activities and objectives across business requirements Prepare monthly budget vs expense reports for internal review Preparation of financial reports in line with funder requirements Ensuring good governance principles are adhered to Salary allocation management – project current month allocations for assigned projects Manage projects assets Organize and coordinate operations in ways that ensure maximum productivity and growth Day-to-day financial administration and management of all grants assigned to the research site Co-ordinate and manage weekly/ monthly petty cash process Monitor monthly expenditure allocations in SAP Supervise the work of employees and provide feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness Job Requirements: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in business financial management (Including preparing budgets, account management and implementation) Ability to work methodically, efficiently and meticulously Tertiary qualification in business management or a financial related field Good understanding of research methods and clinical research support will be advantageous In-depth knowledge of forecasting and budget controls within the academic research environment will be advantageous Stakeholder Management Computer literacy in MS Office (excellent proficiency in Excel) and working knowledge of SAP Excellent verbal skills and written communications skills (ability to articulate reports) Strong analytical skills with the creative problem-solving approaches and an eye for continuous process improvement Strong planning and organizing skills Client focus Business Acumen Staff Management Systems Thinking Ability to multitask and work independently and accurately Valid driver’s licence Job Details: Company: University of Cape Town Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Cape Town, Western Cape, SA Application Deadline: N/A [the_ad id="21944"] Apply Here jobsrican.com
