Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, drive, manage and provide vision to ensure that the Underground Operations discipline have the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively meet the strategic objectives of the organization and to ensure financial strength
- Personal future ready leadership: personal leaderships with strong future ready competency is the most critical success factor for securing a values -based organizational culture
- Focus on Safety and Health as well as operational excellence
- Translation of Segment Strategy to optimize long term value from the segment ore reserve resources and regional license to operate requirements
- Lead the development of the underground Operations discipline vision and strategy
- Approve Operational Mine Plans in conjunction with MANCO
- Drive capital project identification, motivation and management to reduce risk and improve sustainability
- Lead and mange the overall operational risk
- Identify and assess safe performance related risks and mitigating controls
- Formulate and ensure implantation of a strategy for the underground operations discipline in consultation with the Leadership Team
- Participate in the growth of the Mineral Resources and Reserve
- Lead the Mine design team and processes to ensure appropriate Life of Mine planning
- Approve Life of Mine in conjunction with MANCO and select optimal Life of Mine plan
Job Requirements:
- Be in possession of NQF 7 Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Mining Engineering or similar qualification
- Have at least 12 years’ experience in related role, of which 7 years should have been at a senior management level or experience in a functional/specialist area
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre.
- A business qualification would be advantageous
