Job Responsibilities:
- Assist to do basic repairs on equipment
- Achieve production targets through safe and effective operation of the Drill Rig
- Ensure effective utilization of equipment
- Perform all duties related to the position
- Comply with Company’s standards, policies, procedures and safety initiatives
- Effective self-management in alignment with Sibanye Stillwater values
- Does a pre-use inspection of the Drill Rig by means of a checklist and report deficiencies to Supervisor / Mining Supervisor
- Drill rig operators are responsible for the operation of single and / or double boom-drilling rig for underground development mining with the installation of ground support
Job Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Standard 10 / Matric or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience of operating a Drill rig Operator in a Trackless underground mining environment
- Competent A Certificate
- Be in possession of Drill Rig Operator Certificate and License (Certificate of Competency)
- The incumbent will be required to work shifts
- The post is dependent on successful completion of the Company’s pre-employment protocol such as qualifications verification, relevant psychometric assessments and clear security clearance
- Code EB / C Driver’s license
- Be in possession of a First Aid Certificate
- Have experience in a production or mining environment and basic development principles
- Be highly motivated and be a self-starter
