Job Description:
Sanlam Developing Markets [SDM] (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited) is one of the top financial services providers in the South African entry-level and emerging middle market. It aims to understand the unique requirements of clients and offers a wide range of simple and affordable financial solutions that cover needs such as funeral insurance, savings for education, life cover and personal accident plans. In terms of the Sanlam Group Governance Policy, SDM is managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster, which is part of the Sanlam Life and Savings cluster within the Sanlam Group. The cluster focusses on retail porducts, as well as group schemes.

- Analysing and reporting on premium collection trends for Distribution in order to support Distribution to improve premium collection
- Identify, analyse and interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive efforts. Then present findings to key stakeholders including Distribution Exco
- Provide inputs to availability and capacity management process for effective planning.
- Build & customize reports and develop & maintain dashboards
- Work closely with management to identify critical metrics and KPIs for BAU and projects, and to prioritize business needs
- Provide efficient and effective support of SQL, PowerBi applications including continued development of the application and security, software patches, reliability, disaster recovery and ensure the application meets the business needs
- The ability to transpose business requirements into meaningful data presentations
- Apply critical thinking, design thinking and problem-solving skills to solve technical problems related to the management and presentation of large datasets.
- Maintain correct and current application documentation and making it available to application users
- Apply critical thinking, design thinking and problem-solving skills to solve technical problems related to the management and presentation of large datasets.
- Compile and maintain inventory of data and related details
- Experience with Microsoft Power development and advanced excel processing
- Capacity Management
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop or improvement of policies
- Assist with compilation of monthly statistics and reporting
Job Requirements:
- Grade 12/Matric
- Bachelors Degree: Information Technology
- Integrity

- Experience in working with relational databases
- Experience in maintaining Data Integrity
- Technical knowledge and skills
- Good inter-personal skills
- Liaising and collaborating with other key stakeholders and project resources e.g. project managers, developers, other business analysts, test analysts and change managers at different levels of the organization and across multiple teams
- Advanced Excel, Power Queries and working SQL query experience would be advantageous
- Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field
- Building presentations, creating visual representation of requirements or designs
- Experience in working with data presentation on PowerBi
