Job Responsibilities:
- To provide strategic leadership to the Department in delivering its mandate.
- The candidate will be the Accounting Officer of the Department of Military Veterans who will guide .
- Procedures that will guide the provision of holistic services to military veterans.
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership in the provision of Military Veterans socio-economic support services.
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership in the management and coordination of Military Veterans empowerment and stakeholder relations services.
- Provide oversight and take ultimate responsibility for the planning and the execution of the department’s plans and deliverables.
- Interpret political direction and intent of government and ensure mainstreaming into departmental vision and mission.
Job Requirements:
- Undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) and a post graduate qualification (NQF level 8) in Public Administration,
- Public Management or any other related qualification as recognized by SAQA.
- Knowledge in Strategic Leadership, Prescripts, policies and business ethics as well as Government wide policies.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and legislations.
- Personal attributes: Interpersonal relations, Integrity, Confidential, Courteous, Responsive,
- Skills in Report writing, Research, Presentation, Analytical, Motivational, Decision making, Facilitation,
- Project Management and Strategic planning and management.
Qualification & Experience:
- Eight (8) to ten (10) years’ experience at senior managerial level of which at least three (3) years of which must be with any organ of State as defined in the Constitution, Act 108 of 1996.
- The candidate must have executive management experience with strong leadership capabilities.
