Job Description:
These are Instructor-III x 2 based in Wessels (Hotazel)- Northern Cape. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct testing and quality assurance of the product and transferring of Megapump from surface silos, transfer cassettes and Emulsion Charging Units and also to provide training for mine personnel to demonstrate the correct method for transporting emulsion technology, demonstrate the correct method of operating emulsion pumps, demonstrate the correct method for loading a blast face, demonstrate the ability to support emulsion blasting operations without supervision, lead a team of BME personnel in the technical support of underground blasting operations. Only those who meet the minimum requirements will be shortlisted for the interview. They must have at-least an N3 or Equivalent, Competency A & B, • 3 years’ demonstrated experience in Underground explosives mining environment, • 2 years’ demonstrated knowledge of performing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance with a Code 10 Drivers License. Medically Fit and No Criminal Record. Local candidates will be given the first priority

- Demonstrate the ability to support emulsion blasting operations without supervision.
- Lead a team of BME personnel in the technical support of underground blasting operations. Audited and reported/supported standards of tasks and operations
- Manage quality control in underground storage areas.
- Monitor and support daily charging operations.
- Transferring of product from surface silos transfer cassettes and Emulsion Charging Units.
- Usage of BME emulsion charging units. Trained/informed employees and relevant stakeholders
- Provide training for mine personnel.
- Demonstrate the correct method for transporting emulsion technology.
- Undertake benchmarking on daily blasting activities
- Cultivates a culture among staff of neatness, cleanliness, and orderliness in line with SHERQ requirements.
- Demonstrate the correct method of operating emulsion pumps.
- Demonstrate the correct method for loading a blast face.
- Ensure regular inspections of sites, vehicles and equipment and that they ensure that standards are maintained.
- Oversees maintenance, inspections and production schedules of equipment and vehicles.
- Available quality assured product and equipment
- Testing and quality assurance of the product.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to grasp application and functioning of new technology.
- Able to respond positively to changing requirements and pressures.
- Ability to reference and interpret technical operating manuals, specifications drawings and diagrams.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines and schedules.
- Working knowledge of production and quality control principles.
- Ability to interpret and analyze data.
- N3 or Equivalent
- Competency A & B
- 3 years’ demonstrated experience in Underground explosives mining environment
- 2 years’ demonstrated knowledge of performing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance
- Blasting assistant competency (Would be beneficial).
- Code 10 Drivers License.
