Job Description: The purpose of this post is to manage and delegate the maintenance and preventative maintenance work, services and equipment of all NMMU Campuses in accordance with legislative requirements and NMMU policies and procedures. [the_ad id="21943"] Job Responsibilities: Ensure that all the maintenance and new work as well as the workshops comply with the Occupation Health and Safety Act and Regulations. To work independently and complete all stand-by related work. Manage all Staff reporting to this post. Electrical maintenance and preventative maintenance as well as new electrical installations. Manage, delegate and carry out: Advise the George Campuses’ Supervisors regarding all electrical, air-conditioning and refrigeration work. Manage all works requisitions and job cards on a daily basis. Manage all the electrical, air-conditioning and refrigeration tasks related to projects. Air-conditioning and refrigeration maintenance and preventative maintenance as well as new air-conditioning and refrigeration installations. Perform all required administration duties. Job Requirements: Have good knowledge of reading, writing and calculation of technical data. Have excellent knowledge of Larger Buildings and Services infrastructure. Have good knowledge of supervising personnel. Have excellent knowledge of the Occupation Health and Safety Act and Regulations. Have good knowledge of maintenance and preventative maintenance building infrastructures. Have good knowledge of building plans & specifications. Qualification & Experience: 3-5 years trade related work experience, Relevant Proven management or supervisory experience, Trade Certificate, The candidate will be required on occasions to assist with call out work, after hours, 7 days a week.
