Job Responsibilities:
Plan, organise and evaluate the daily operations of the laundry services in the laundry department within the hospital. Assign and review the work of the laundry staff. Manage and oversee the receiving, sluicing, washing, ironing and delivering of linen to the different areas in the hospital. Allocating and inspecting work quality. Implement standard operating procedures applicable to the linen department. Ensure compliance to Occupational Health and Safety Act and Infection, Prevention and Control standards. Perform any other delegated responsibilities by your supervisor.

Grade 12 with Diploma /degree in Public Administration or equivalent qualification with 5 years’ experience of which 3 years must be on a supervisory level in a laundry or linen environment , or a Higher certificate in Public Administration with 8 years’ experience of which 4 years should be at a supervisory level in laundry environment , or Grade 12 with 10 years’ experience in the laundry department of which 5 years must be at a supervisory level in the laundry department. Computer Literacy will be an added advantage. Knowledge of linen/laundry machinery and detergents. Knowledge of public service prescripts and legislations. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Infection Prevention and Control. Knowledge of the PFMA. Knowledge of the Labour Relations Act. Good Interpersonal skills, good communication skills (written and verbal). Conflict resolution and problem solving skills. Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Perform any other duties delegated by the supervisor.
