Job Description:

The Safely and Security /Metropolitan Police Training College, a section within the Metropolitan Police Department. requires dynamic, committed, and passionate applicants to fill these positions and become part of the dedicated team that will support the Safely and Security Directorate’s accredited Training College with ongoing skills development as well as legislative training.

Job Responsibilities:

• Communicate professional knowledge in relation to the training of learners to line management
• Communicate professional knowledge in relation to training to learners
• Facilitate approved set Unit Standards lo learners in respect of knowledge-based units and specific elective learning units
• Prepare accredited lesson plans in terms of set criteria
• Prepare learners for assessment
• Handle routine administrative tasks in relation to the training function.
• Assess learner Portfolio of Evidence files.
• Invigilate during formative and summative assessments
• Apply basic concepts and theoretical knowledge within the law enforcement discipline. working under guidance of a senior/ principal specialist. according to predefined procedures, processes and standard practices
• Assess learner competencies in relation to theoretical and practical exercises and all evidence
• Design integrated assessment plans for learning programmes and facilitating learning by using a variety of standard approved methodologies

Job Requirements:

• Registered as an assessor and moderator
• Additional four (4) years’ relevant experience in a law enforcement environment preferred
• Two (2) years’ experience as a facilitator
• An appropriate Higher Certificate
• Relevant three-year diploma preferred
• Willing to be exposed lo all weather and conditions associated with training, including but not limited to noise, smoke, long periods standing/walking
• Willing to work on a shift system based on operational needs
• Valid driver’s licence
• Willing to be placed on a development programme lo become a uniform member within the Metro Police
• Preference will be given to applicants with a SAPS and/or Municipal Policing background.
