Job Description:
To create, refine and clarify the detailed definition of the business need, design the corresponding business processes and support the implementation of the business solution servicing our Finance Business Area. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.
A working understanding of Finance Business processes preferably within the Insurance Industry
Provides Finance thought leadership, mentoring and guidance to others. Expert in Business Analysis Techniques.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review, maintain, and suggest modifications as appropriate, to the current procedures and processes.
- Facilitates the implementation of new or enhanced processes
- Works with managers and relevant users on feasibility studies and establishing business and requirements.
- Assist team members in solving problems relating to their tasks, which may relate to system implementation and production.
- Research, implement, and support new finance system implementation when necessary.
- Formulates strategies and guidelines to improve the business environment
- Thinks in process/value-chain – seeks to understand what they do – not just do.
- Analytical and looks for improvement/smarter ways of achieving the outcome
- Analyses past, present and future Finance business environment
- High cognitive ability to pick up complex financial models and rules, Old Mutual’s products etc. quickly
- Provides support and facilitates sessions for end users, e.g. training
- Documentation, interrogation and analysis of Finance Business requirements
- Documenting complex Finance Business Processes
- Document and understand business needs of finance stakeholders, which may include, but not limited to procure to pay, fixed assets, general and sub-ledgers, cash and financial close, Finance Allocations, Tax and Finance Regulations.
- Analyses system or business processes to determine problems, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Reviews processes and conducts process audits, as required
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and products or Financial service industry and products
- Finance qualification , If CA, must have 1.5 to 2 years plus post articles experience in Accounting (not Audit)
- Exposure to a complex organisational structure at Group level
- Project experience is essential
- Project methodologies, framework and governance
- Diploma in Business Analysis
